The APPG on Fair Banking is a key driver for change and a forum for education that brings together Parliamentarians, organisations and individuals from the private and public sector who share the objective of creating a thriving and resilient relationship between lenders and their customers, including businesses.
APPG on Fair Banking
We engage with all stakeholders who have an interest in the financial services sector and the welfare, strength and resilience of its consumers, including SMEs. We try to listen to as many voices as possible. As a result, the APPG is in the position to take the lead in restoring trust in banking and finance - an essential step for the wellbeing and prosperity of individual consumers and also for SMEs to have the confidence to take risks and thrive for the benefit of their local communities and the UK as a whole.

Testimonials
Lord Cromwell, Co-Chair, APPG on Fair Business Banking:
“The Athena Foundation provides professional support to the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fair Business Banking and acts as its secretariat. It is a well-networked resource for Parliamentarians across both Houses engaged in the APPG's goal of developing UK banking for business that is accountable and fair as well as efficient. Providing detailed research and bringing parliamentarians together to work towards these shared goals, the Athena Foundation is a respected contributor to the parliamentary community.”
Ned Beale, Co-Head of Commercial Disputes and Partner, Hausfeld:
“The APPG on Fair Business Banking has a rich history of casting a spotlight on the most acute problems faced by banking consumers. Notably, Hausfeld acted for the APPG when the Supreme Court defined the test for economic duress, intervening in the interests of borrowers, and is representing the APPG in its judicial review of the FCA’s decision to exclude one third of customers from the IRHP redress scheme. The APPG is also a thought leader, publishing the UK’s first systematic review of redress and compensation schemes, and a report highlighting the need for a specialist and cost-efficient tribunal for financial services disputes. It is uniquely positioned to draw together customers, financial institutions, parliamentarians and experts to change business banking for the better.”
